Position Summary:

We are currently hiring a Project Manager/ Environmental Manager at Crane Naval Base in Crane Indiana. 

Schedule: Monday-Friday 

Shift: Full-Time 

Hours: Days but must be flexible for oversight of night work 

Salary:$48,000-$52,000 annually 

Typical Duties:

  • Reports to the Vice President of Operations or Director of Operations and is responsible for overseeing work-related opportunities for people who have different abilities to work in a integrated team and receive work support and development as needed 
  • Manages employees regarding janitorial cleaning duties. Provides training, support and on-going feedback to all workers on job duties, proper procedures and areas of improvement. 
  • Point of contact for management. Develop professional working partnerships. Establish appropriate communication methods, using routine and periodic meetings, proactive preparation and reporting. Prompt response time for resolution of customer complaints. 
  • Monitor the results of Quality Control efforts and ensure all QC audits and safety documents are completed and on file for inspection. 
  • Supervising includes hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating, disciplining, processing changes and timekeeping for workers. Ensure supervisors and team leaders have received training and coaching on working with individuals with disabilites and applying techniques in the workplace. Help develop employees job skills and work/behavior skills. Communicate job expectations, motivate, coach and counsel employees.  
  • Monitors the budget and also propose budget updates, controls labor and supply expenses. and inventory. Order chemicals and other supplies necessary.  Make and project estimates on revenue and expenses for future months and fiscal year. 
  • Ensures quality and customer satisfaction. 
  • Provide operational and expense data for contract negotiations. Monitors metrics to measure personnel and productivity for lines of business.
  • Maintain compliance with AbilityOne Contract. Review and update Standard Operating Procedures. Provide a safe environment for all workers and customers. Follow and enforce OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and ensure SDS (Safety Data Sheets) are organized and current. Complete any incident and/or accident reports. Take preventative and corrective action as needed. Conduct safety training, inspections and ensure workers utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure Operations services adhere to the goals and policies of the Environmental Management System, the Installation Energy Plan, and other specified Sustainability requirements affecting this contract. Develop, implement and monitor environmental strategies, policies and programs that promote sustainable development and examine the contract activities to establish where improvements can be made and ensure compliance with environmental legislation and energy policy

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in business or related field. Will consider a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree . 
  • Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of janitorial experience and at least 5 years of supervisor experience. Minimum 2 years experience with environmental procedures similar to the contract. 
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and federal energy laws/policies 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Background Checks: Pass federal and state background checks. Pass child abuse and neglect background checks. Pass driving background check
  • Driving :Must be at least 21 years or older with a valid drivers license. Company Travel with personally insured vehicle is required
