Production Supervisor

We have an immediate need for a full-time Production Supervisor to supervise, coach, coordinate, and instruct adults with developmental disabilities in a warehouse/packaging/assembly atmosphere. Trains and supports individuals with disabilities in engaging in work opportunities and person-centered program goals and activities by instructing, monitoring and providing feedback while the certified worker performs the task, or performing the task with the worker, if needed. Prepares work by moving products by hand or cart, explaining customer orders and procedures to complete the job, checking assembly quality, tracking pieces completed and entering data, ensuring completed work is processed through production.
RATE: $18.50/hour (No late nights or weekends!!)
Hours: M - F 7:30AM - 4:00PM

Key Responsibilities
Advance the Company’s mission to provide opportunities to train and improve vocational skills for gainful employment through productive work for individuals with developmental disabilities by fostering productive, inclusive relationships with certified workers. Ensure a high rate of certified worker satisfaction. Provide feedback to Employment Facilitator regarding progress and needs of individual workers. Demonstrate our Company values to achieve optimum performance levels and achieve goals and objectives.
Train and assist certified workers to engage in work or training activities; provide feedback and re-direction as needed. Demonstrate job duties to Individuals with Intellectual and developmental disabilities and observe workers performing tasks to ensure understanding of job duties such as equipment operations, work, safety procedures and sanitation regulations. Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between production lines. Assign individuals to specific tasks, such as sorting, assembling, repairing, or hand packing products or components. Work closely with certified workers in learning and developing their skills and abilities. Determine and set standards and production goals, based on company policies. Examine work produced to verify adherence to specifications. Ensure certified workers’ compliance with procedures and safety regulations.
Verify goods received for production prior to starting any job. Document and submit production-related reports and/or complete documentation on goals and objectives. Maintain operational data such as time, quality, and production records and prepare reports of production results. Perform time standards and studies as assigned. Monitor and track employees’ productivity and competency levels on all appropriate data collection forms or timekeeping systems, while ensuring that an adequate amount of data is collected for each assigned disabled employee in their workgroup. Complete incident/accident reports as needed using the Company’s electronic records system to address issues and submit them by at least the end of that shift. Submit all training logs and documentation required for training sessions or community integration. Use all computer applications as required by agency procedures.
Prepare and maintain the work and/or training areas prior to, during, and after the certified workers’ shift. Move work materials to and from the work and storage areas by hand or using a cart or pallet jack. Ensure that all contract materials and training curriculum are returned to the required location. Set up area for skills training according to the daily schedule. Complete daily work assignments such as sanitizing work areas, sweeping and mopping areas, general cleaning, etc. Maintain a safe working environment, free from hazards, debris, and unused materials. Requisition materials, supplies, equipment, parts, or repair services.
Lead team and place people in positions to succeed. Encourage effective outcomes and accountability. Train new employees. Plan, monitor, and appraise job results; evaluate the team for continual improvement, efficiency, and effectiveness. Develop or enhance the skills and knowledge of the staff to increase the capability of the team to handle new/different jobs. Initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures. Mentor and develop the team through training, problem resolution and performance evaluation, and build an effective company culture that embodies our Company values to achieve optimum performance levels, goals, and objectives.
Requirements
Education: High School or GED required. Post High School education preferred.
Experience: Prior experience in production, job set-ups, workflow processes, documentation, recordkeeping. 1+ years of supervisory experience. Quality control experience and experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
Certifications/Licenses: CPR and First Aid, CPI (to be obtained within the first 6 months of hire). In house Forklift Certification within 3 months.
Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. QuickBooks, Kronos and Quantum experience preferred.
Background Checks: Must pass criminal background check, various State and Federal registry checks.
Driving: Must pass driving history check and Company policy criteria (i.e., maintain valid driver’s license, and be 21 or older to drive). Company travel using personal insured vehicle is not required. Occasionally drives personal vehicle between work sites.
